24hr Comics Challenge English

24 Hour Comic Marathon @ high noon on October 18th!!!

656 Comics has brought it all together, (with a little bit of help from yours truly Adversary Comix!)

The day is finally here, when Comiqueros internationally get to prove their merit and make the distinction from amateurs to professionals and those with the stamina and creativity to undertake such a mission.

The task is simple, create a full fledged comic book within a 24 hour period, basically it breaks down to a page of completed comic book goodness each hour, so expect fun filled madness to ensue!

In the spirit of solidarity we are inviting everyone who has the desire and passion of comics to come hang out with the comic book rockstars of El Paso/ Juarez who have put this event together, 656 Comics, Adversary Comix, and Changolion Comics, which will be podcasting live from the event! With other invited guests from the who’s who of the comic book scene in the desert Southwest and borderland! This event will build the camaraderie between the whole artistic community and help better relations between comiqueros, manga-heads, otakus, comic book aficionados, and lovers of art alike!

Participants in the 24-Hour Comics Day event may submit copies of their comics to the Ohio State University Cartoon Research Library to become a part of the 24-Hour Comics Day Collection. And of course we will be doing that since we have been approved as a liable host/venue for the event! Visit the 24 Hour Comic website for more details at [link]. We will have scanners on hand to archive the collected works of our participants and send them off to good ole OSU! You get to become a part of history!

But that’s not all; we are going to make this event one to remember by having the BAWLS to do it! We’ve got Bawls, lots of Bawls to hand out and you can have Bawls too! “As the drink of choice for comic book fans, gamers and geeks alike, BAWLS Guarana is thrilled to be fueling 24 Hour Comics Day! Our refreshing taste and caffeinated kick is just what these comic fiends need to keep working through the wee hours.” Need I say more? BAWLS ROCKS! Well there’s more, the good people at Bawls have sent us a few goodies to hand out as the event goes on,(for more Bawls check them out at [link] ) but we can’t just give Bawls out, we’re gonna sweeten the deal by handing out some really cool swag including, comics, movies, toys, limited edition original lithos, and other stuff by having some trivia contest, competitions, games and maybe, just maybe, a ROCKBAND showdown! Hell, we might even hand out some chingazos, courtesy of Los Pinches Hombres!



This event is gonna take place over 24 hours so it is non-stop and as night descends, we’re gonna have a mini film festival featuring some of the best comic book/horror movies ever made!
Here’s a short list: DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978), NIGHT OF THE CREEPS, THE DARK KNIGHT, SPIDER-MAN 2, SLITHER, BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA, THEMONSTER SQUAD, and more to be announced! And who knows what other crazy, kooky, twisted stuff we’ll come up with to entertain everyone as we work towards the goal of completing our original comic books!

So get ready for Saturday, those of you who are able to attend, bring your pillows and jammies and art supplies, and of course the desire to make history!
